On its analog channel, and its primary digital stream, a station must run an average of 16 transition-related PSAs and 16 transition-related crawls, snipes, and/or tickers per week in each quarter, all between the hours of 5 a.m. and 1 a.m. It must also run one 30 minute DTV-related informational program once, and one 100-Day Countdown piece per day for the 100 days prior to the conclusion of the transition. Comment boxes MUST be used to describe these compliant activities (See rules for additional details).

WLKY AIRED THE NAB DTV EDUCATIONAL 30 MINUTE PROGRAM ON SUNDAY, JULY 20, 2008 FROM 2:00-2:30 PM. IN ADDITION, THE STATION RAN A TOTAL OF TWENTY-FOUR (24) :10 SECOND AND FOURTEEN (14) :15 SECOND PROMOTIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS INFORMING VIEWERS OF THE AIRDATE AND TIME IT WAS SCHEDULED TO RUN AND ENCOURAGING THEM TO TUNE IN.

THIS MULTIMEDIA SECTION INCLUDES BACKGROUND INFORMATION, INFORMATION ABOUT DTV CONVERTER BOXES, TECHNICAL INFORMATION AND FAQS. ON JULY 24, WE ADDED A 2:30 PACKAGE HOSTED BY ANCHOR VICKI DORTCH THAT PROVIDED A "CRASH COURSE" ABOUT THE DIGITAL CONVERSION, WHAT IT MEANS TO THE VIEWERS AND HOW IT WILL BENEFIT THE CONSUMER.

ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD AT 7:58 PM, ALL LOUISVILLE TELEVISION STATIONS, INCLUDING WLKY, CONDUCTED A "SOFT TEST" SIMULATED "SHUT-OFF" OF THEIR ANALOG SIGNAL IN ORDER FOR VIEWERS TO TEST THEIR TELEVISION SET'S ABILITY TO RECEIVE A DIGITAL SIGNAL. FOLLOWING THE :30 SECOND TEST, THE NAB'S TOLL FREE NUMBER WAS GIVEN FOR THOSE VIEWERS NEEDING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. IN ADDITION, INFORMATION ON HOW TO OBTAIN A GOVERNMENT-ISSUED COUPON FOR OBTAINING A CONVERTER BOX WAS PROVIDED. THE STATION RAN EIGHTY-FOUR (84) :30 SECOND ANNOUNCEMENTS INFORMING VIEWERS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED TEST
